Ultra-Lightweight, Modular, and PVS-14 Compatible

The MOD-14 Lightfighter is the lightest manual gain monocular housing compatible with legacy PVS-14 systems. Engineered for exceptional weight savings and modularity, the Lightfighter offers an easy upgrade path for existing PVS-14 users and is designed to seamlessly integrate with our MOD-31 Nightfighter Modular Powered Bridge.

Key Features

The MOD-14 Lightfighter weighs less than half of a standard PVS-14 housing, significantly reducing fatigue during extended use. It features manual gain control, cross compatibility with original PVS-14 housings, and an extra-long runtime with its on-board CR123A battery compartment.

Ultra-Lightweight Design: Weighs only 1.8 oz, less than half the weight of a standard PVS-14 housing (4 oz).

Complete Weights:

Standard Mil-Spec PVS-14: 11 oz

MOD-14 Lightfighter with Standard Lenses: 8.4 oz

MOD-14 Lightfighter with RPO 3.0 Lenses: 6.7 oz

Complete Weights Bridged:

Mil-Spec PVS-14s on standard (non-modular) bridge: 26 - 28 oz

Dual Lightfighters on Nightfighter bridge (Noctis): 19.5oz

Dual Lightfighters on Nightfighter bridge (RPO 3.0): 16oz (PVS-31 weight)

Modular Ecosystem Integration:
Designed from the ground up to work with the MOD-31 Nightfighter Modular Powered Bridge, enabling centralized power management, auto shutoff, and tool-free attachment using captive thumb screws.

Flexible Field of View Options:
Compatible with both standard 40° and 55° wide field-of-view (FOV) configurations via interchangeable MOD-14 arms on the Nightfighter bridge.

How does the modular functionality work?

The Lightfighter re-purposes the legacy electrical contacts near the 1/4-20 mounting interface, which were originally used for a shutoff feature with some PVS-14 arms and accessories. Instead, these contacts now allow for power routing from external sources, such as the Nightfighter powered bridge system. This enables centralized power control and auto shutoff functionality when used with the bridge.

Effortless Integration with the MOD-31 Nightfighter Bridge

Attaching the MOD-14 Lightfighters to the Nightfighter bridge is as simple as securing two thumb screws—no tools required. Power is transmitted through the two electrical contacts on the 1/4-20 mounting interface, allowing for centralized power control and auto shutoff functionality when used with the Nightfighter bridge. This setup enables you to transform your monocular into a cohesive binocular system in seconds.

Cross Compatibility with PVS-14:
Because the Lightfighter uses the same same battery compartment screw hole footprint as the original PVS-14, you can easily upgrade any PVS-14 to the Lightfighter CR123A Battery Compartment to gain modular functionality from your legacy PVS-14.

Manual Gain Control:

Plug-and-Play Compatibility: Works seamlessly with standard MX-11769 image intensifier tubes—no special adapters needed.

Fully Analog rotary gain knob, instead of push buttons.

Advanced Power Management:
Built-in electronics handle automatic switching between the internal CR123A battery and external power from the Nightfighter bridge. Enjoy seamless integration and simplified battery management.

Modular Upgrade Path for existing PVS-14 Users

If you currently own a PVS-14, you can easily convert it into a MOD-14 Lightfighter by purchasing and installing the Lightfighter CR123A Battery Compartment. By upgrading to the Lightfighter battery compartment, you gain modular power functionality in combination with the Nightfighter bridge, providing an affordable path to access advanced features without replacing your entire system.

Consider additionally upgrading your PVS-14 to use the Lightfighter upper housing, to save even more weight, or just purchase the complete housing kit (this listing).
